My BF - best friend confusion

I visited my BF in California and met his best friend.. he was really happy and proud of introducing me to all his friends. However his best friend invited both of us for dinner at a local bar and restaurant and he avoided him at all cost.. the entire time I was there. He had all excuses to not go out with his best friend. Then he told me his best friend just wanted to use me and him as a wing man because his bff is single and since I’m a girl that he thinks it will be a way for his best friend to find girls.. anyway it doesn’t make sense at all.. why does my bf avoid his best friend during my vacay.. and he doesn’t want both him and I hanging out with him.. I don’t know, it makes me feel like he don’t trust me

You boyfriend knows his best friend better than you. He knows his best friend's intention better than you, so believe anything he tells you about him. Don't allow this bring any disagreement between you and your boyfriend but think of ways to make your relationship better.

I don't think he doesn't trust you, but trying to protect what he has. He trust you but only wants to avoid losing you to his friend. It's normal and you will do the same if you were in his shoes.

he is afraid his bf will say something he does not want you to be aware of or his bf has shown an interest in taking you away from him. my bet is first one which is a red flag that you should investigate by meeting privately with his bf to probe.

Thanks guys. I asked my bf the real reason but he’s not very forthright with me about it so I’m just going to let it go and trust him
