Is it true that Thai ladies would rather lie than lose face?

I read somewhere on the internet that in Thailand culture, losing face is avoided as much as possible and because of this, thai ladies, and perhaps thai men as well, end up lying a lot just to save face. I read that women from Thailand are known to be easy liars which means that they easily lie to cover up things and save their faces from shame. I don’t know how true this is though considering that it was only mentioned in an article online.
