  • This is a strange story but it is true and effected my confidence.

It all started at an ex work place this guy was showing off in the canteen i am getting promoted i guarantee it.
Then a few days later i got the job and he started using threats on me after a year i left the company and got a new job.
The ex colleague (we will say his name is karl even though it is not to save confusion) was seeing a girl in the office behind her b/fs back as he worked away.
I did not know any of this at the time i was shopping in town and the b/f came up to me with the girl he started shouting at me why did you leave flowers at my flat i replied i do not know what you are talking about (i was all confused and had never seen the guy before) he started ranting and said Karl told him it was me i said i have left the company a year ago i hardly spoke to the girl when i was there only professionally and good morning. the guy stormed off.
Then everytime i seen (her and him) they would come up to me shouting i have been on dates or out with friends or g/fs and gotten grief from them my confidence was so low i ended up leaving town i would just get abuse when i done nothing wrong i have only started getting my confidence back.
To this day i still do not know why i got blamed for what i genuinely never done it made me anxious as if i started chating to a girl even friendly she may start dropping me in this type of senarios again.

I think what happened was that Karl dropped those flowers at their flat, but when confronted he defended himself and said it was you. You shouldn't beat yourself up too much because you know you did no such thing, you have proved your innocence and that's it.

However, what you should have done was to go with the boyfriend of your ex colleague and confront Karl about it. This would have salvaged you from this situation.

Sorry about what Karl did to you. This is a clear case of defamation of personality and it's punishable in the court of law.

However, I'll advice you get over it and don't allow it affect your self-confidence.
